The minister emphasized the need to prevent heatstroke deaths and instructed officials from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to take proactive measures. The meeting, attended by experts from the ICMR and the India Meteorological Department (IMD), discussed strategies to tackle the heatwave situation and assist affected states.
