Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressing ministers of disaster management on major schemes for enhancing disaster preparedness and management in India Introduction: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has unveiled three significant schemes worth over Rs 8,000 crore aimed at enhancing disaster management in India. The schemes focus on modernizing fire brigade services, flood mitigation in major cities, and prevention of landslides in several states. Modernization of Fire Brigade Services: Under this scheme, an allocation of Rs 5,000 crore will be provided to all states to modernize and expand their fire brigade services. A detailed plan will be shared with the states to ensure effective utilization of the funds.
